Day 44: ScriptTalk plus 3rd Act Issues
Wow, I was tired today. The late night on Monday and the early day on Tuesday has worn me out. Instead of going to bed last night, I pulled out the third act of Come Ups and started reading. I probably should have gone to bed. I discovered that I have a stronger ending to Act 2 about 7 pages later than where I thought I was ending it. So right now my second act is overwritten and my third act is under written. I've tried to convince myself that this is just a bend of the rules, but in actualilty it is flat out breaking them and tossing them aside. And so far, I haven't been able to come up with a justification for it other than it feels right. While that might pass muster with an audience, it won't fly with the Hollywood readers.
Instead of dealing with that, I moved on to something slightly more mindless: the editing of the latest ScriptTalk™ interview. I set the computer to log and transfer over night so I was able to sit down and just start editing. Today I just did the basics. I lined everything up and did a rough assembly. The whole process took about 3 hours. I'll jump back on it tomorrow when I'm refreshed and can pay more attention to the details and find B Roll footage to cover jump cuts. Today was just kind of a slog, but productive nonetheless.
